AUTHOR - Poetry - Mindfulness - Motherhood
Cynthia Schaefer writes confessional inspirational poetry to help stay-at-home/work-at-home moms feel less alone in their motherhood.  Poetry is a practice and an awareness that brings her closer to the natural world and her inner-self. She is the author of two poetry collections. Present Peace: A Poetry Collection about a woman's spiritual journey to find her voice, her art and her ordinary life extraordinary. Mothering Me: Poems for Moms with Toddlers marks a week in a mother's toddler season that explores the frustration with laundry as easily as it addresses communication and role disparities with a spouse.

About Me

Welcome to Cynthia's Poetry!  I'm Cynthia and I live in the United States of America with my family.  I enjoy music, art and archery when I'm not caring for my family, teaching, or writing poetry and creating videos.  Before caring for children full time, I worked as an accountant for a corporation for many years and earned my CPA license.  After stepping out of the work place, I discovered my love for poetry again.  I had gone over 10 years without writing.  When I tapped into my creative side, it was like someone had opened up the Hoover Dam inside me.  Poetry came flowing out sometimes every day or several times a day I could be found with my journal writing poems.  Eventually my creative explosion became a nice steady stream of art whether it was playing an instrument or song writing or watercolors or shell art, I am not going to stop.  It's a part of me I never want to ignore again. In 2023, I began my journey into the field of education. My love for writing has taken on a new path into children's books and writing decodable books for young dyslexic readers. While I still write poetry, I am excited to be merging my interests in both creative writing and education. Thanks for visiting my site! If you are on social media, I would love to say hello to you.
